Already from an artistic family, Lee White began his formal training at the California College of Commercial Design at the City College of Los Angeles. White later received a degree in Fine Arts from the California Institute of Arts.

Being raised in California and spending much of his time in the Southeast United States as well as traveling in the Caribbean, White's work is influenced heavily by the cultural diversity he experienced. His warm colors and deep emotions also reflect his travels and experiences.
